I Am Not Common

Acts 10:9-16 (NKJV):The next day, as they went on their journey and drew near the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray, about the sixth hour. Then he became very hungry and wanted to eat; but while they made ready, he fell into a trance and saw heaven opened and an object like a great sheet bound at the four corners, descending to him and let down to the earth. In it were all kinds of four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, creeping things, and birds of the air. And a voice came to him, Rise, Peter; kill and eat. But Peter said, Not so, Lord! For I have never eaten anything common or unclean. And a voice spoke to him again the second time, What God has cleansed you must not call common. This was done three times. And the object was taken up into heaven again.”

The Lord used this open vision later to speak to the Apostle Peter regarding the Gentiles. Please understand that this wasn’t The Lord or the removal of standards for holiness. This was a greater understanding of the finished work of Christ on the Cross. Christ Satisfied and Ratified Jewish Ceremonial Laws For The Grafting of Gentiles. When Peter had the Vision The Lord Was at Work Priming Cornelius’s House For Revival.

That’s what God is doing in your Home, He is Priming it For Revival. God is going to pour out His Spirit upon Crossroads Community Church. What God Has Cleansed Is No Longer Common–You Aren’t Common Anymore!

Get An Uncommon Perspective: See What God Sees. Peter’s vision challenged his old mindset, what he thought was right. God said  “See it My way.” Uncommon folk aren’t locked into cultural norms or vain traditions taught them. Gather unto yourself a Kingdom perspective.

What does the King Want? You’ll never walk in your new life if you’re still thinking like your old one.

Romans 12:2 (NKJV, NIV): “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind…”

Step Into Uncommon Obedience: Say Yes Even When It’s Uncomfortable. Peter was being asked to go where he never thought he would — to the house of a Gentile. Obedience to God often requires breaking with comfort zones and religious expectations. Being uncommon means obeying God even when it doesn’t make sense. Faith will always push you beyond the familiar. Hebrews 11:8 (NKJV): “By faith Abraham obeyed…”

Walk In Uncommon Grace: Don’t Disqualify What God Is Qualifying. God had to correct Peter’s prejudice: Do not call unclean what I have cleansed.” We often disqualify people, opportunities, or even ourselves based on their past. God’s grace makes people uncommon: washed, chosen, and sent.

Grace gives us access to what we never could’ve earned ourselves. 1 Corinthians 1:27 (NIV): “…God chose the foolish things… to shame the wise.”

You Have An Uncommon Assignment: You’re Called to People and Places Others Might Avoid.

Peter’s vision was preparation for his mission. God will send you to people others have written off.

Being uncommon means you’re called to stand even when others shrink back. If your assignment looks too small, it might not be God’s. Ephesians 3:20 (NKJV): “He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly …..”

Receive Your Uncommon Identity: You Are No Longer Common. What God has cleansed — that includes you. You don’t need the world’s validation when you have God’s declaration. Stop shrinking to fit in when you were created to stand out. You’ve been marked for more — So live like it.

1 Peter 2:9  (NKJV): “You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation…”
