Known, Sanctified and Ordained

Jeremiah 1:4-8 (NKJV): Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying: 5 ‘Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.’

Then said I: ‘Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.’ 7 But the Lord said to me: ‘Do not say, “I am a youth,” ‘For you shall go to all to whom I send you, And whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of their faces, For I am with you to deliver you,’ says the Lord.”

Before The Lord knitted you in your mother’s womb —> You were known, sanctified and ordained with purpose —–> “For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His son that he might be the firstborn of many brethren,” Romans 8:29 (NKJV). The Lord gave Jeremiah a three-fold vision in the rest of Chapter 1.

The Almond Branch – Blossoming – God is Ready to Perform His Word. The blossoming almond tree was a sign of change —> seasons —> spring. God will perform His Word, Just Believe and There will be a Fulfillment. Luke 1:45 (NKJV): “Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord.”

The Boiling Pot – Poured Out – Calamity and Wrath Upon Them. The pot poured out from the north —> The kingdoms from the north came down. Calamity Comes and Calamity Goes —> It is the Word that Remains Forever. Romans 1:18 (NKJV): “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness.”

The Iron Pillar – Standing – You must stand for something. If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for everything. The Lord told them calamity and wrath are coming, but stand firm. Jeremiah 1:18 (NKJV): “For behold, I have made you this day A fortified city and an iron pillar, And bronze walls against the whole land…”

Jeremiah 1:9-10 (NKJV): “Then the LORD put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the LORD said to me, ‘Behold, I have put My words in your mouth. See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, To root out and to pull down, To destroy and to throw down, To build and to plant.”
