My Faith Works

Romans 12:3 (NKJV): “For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith   ——–> Metron (grk) : a measured portioned.

Declare This: My Faith Works —-> Shout It ——-> When I Work My Faith

James 1:19-25 (NLT): “Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires. So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls. But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.”

Paul Says, “Faith Comes By Hearing, Hearing The Word of God” – Romans 10:17.

James Says —-> Blessings Come From Doing It.

It is one thing to know the Word of God but it’s another thing to do the Will of God.

This Morning I want to move you from “Forgetful Hearer” to a “Effectual Doer” of the Word.

An Effectual Doer Is a Mighty Servant of the Lord. James 1:1 (NKJV): “James, a bondservant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad: Greetings.”

Bond-Servant – Doulos – Literally “Slave.” Try to get your sibling to confess that, It’s not happening without a divine interaction.

Basically, What the Author is conveying – Being a disciple is being a servant. I serve because I’m saved

God Saves People, So Saved People Can Help Save Others. I Serve God & I’m in Service to God

Serving shows maturity in a believer’s life. Christ Modeled Maturity Through Servant Leadership

He came to serve, Matthew 20:28 (NLT): “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Serving Has 3 Major Implications: Obedience, Humility and Loyalty (Trust)

An Effectual Doer Considers Trials and Troubles An Opportunity For Great Joy.

James 1:2-4 (NLT): “Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.” Consider The Opportunities in Troubles, Stop Complaining About Them!!!

Consider This: God’s Ways Are Higher Than Our Ways. Things will be better – Better For You!!!

If you don’t value God’s Input, You Will Never Value His Outcome…. His Ways are Higher Than Ours.

Consider This:  Your Faith Is Being Tested. The endurance of your Faith will give you an outstanding result. Live a life of no regrets, Faith Holds On Tightly and Never Lets Go. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful, Hebrews 10:23 (NLT): “Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.”

Consider This: The Blessing Will Far Outweigh Your Stretching. James 1:12 (NLT): “Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.” Your Perseverance will bring forth His blessing.

An Effectual Doer Receives Wisdom and Help From Above Not From Below.

James 1:5-8 (NLT): “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do.”

An Effectual Doer Humbly Accepts the Word of God. James 1:19-21 (NLT): “Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires. So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls.”

An Effectual Doer Will Receive Mighty Blessings From The Lord. James 1:25 (NLT): “But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.”
