Hebrews 6:9 (NKJV): “But, beloved, we are confident of better things concerning you, yes, things that accompany salvation, though we speak in this manner.”
We Are Confident of Better Things Concerning You!
Confident = Convinced, Certain, Void of Any Doubt, Philippians 1:6 (NKJV): “…being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ…”
Better Things = Life, Living, Circumstances, Outcomes, Future, End, Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV): “For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
There Are Things That Accompany Salvation —> Doctrines
Doctrine = a belief or set of beliefs held and taught by a Church, political party, or other group.
Forgiveness: A Life of Forgiveness
Psalm 103:12 (NLT): “He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.”
1 John 1:9 (NKJV): “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Matthew 6:14-15 (NLT): “If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.”
Justification: A Life of Peace
Romans 4:25 (NIV): “He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.”
`dikaiōsis, from 1344; aquittal (for Christ’s sake): justification, the act of God declaring men free from guilt and acceptable to him abjuring to be righteous.
Romans 5:1-2 (NIV): “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.”
Reconciliation, A Life With God
Romans 5:10-11 (NLT):“For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.”
Redemption, A Life of Freedom
Ephesians 1:7 (NKJV): “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.”
apolytrōsis, (the act) ransom in full, i.e. (figuratively) riddance, or (specially) Christian salvation: deliverance, redemption, a releasing effected by payment of ransom redemption, deliverance liberation procured by the payment of a ransom.
Sanctification, A Life of Purpose
John 17:17 (NKJV): “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.”
hagiazō, to make holy, purify or consecrate; to set apart for a special purpose.
2 Timothy 2:21 (NLT): “If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work.”
New Life, A Life of New Opportunities
2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV): “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
Adoption, A Life of Covenant Blessings
John 1:12 (NLT): “But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.” Ephesians 1:5 (NLT): “God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.”
Ephesians 1:11 (NLT): “Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan.”
