Having the Mind of Christ

“Having The Mind of Christ”
June 7, 2026
Romans 15:5-6 (NLT): “May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Attitude of Mind: Phroneo (Greek): to exercise the mind, adopt an attitude, or have a directed mindset.
Philippians 2:5-8 (NKJV): “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.”
Five Mindsets Every Believer Must Possess
He Was Respectful, Philippians 2:5-7 (NKJV): “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.”
He Was Humble, Philippians 2:8 (NKJV): “He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.”
He Was Patient, 2 Peter 3:9 (NIV): “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
He Was Sacrificial, Romans 5:8 (NKJV): “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
He Was Obedient, Philippians 2:8 (NKJV): “He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.”
How To Capture The Mind of Christ
Psalm 1:1-3 (NKJV): “Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.”
Philippians 4:8-9 (NKJV): “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.”
Colossians 3:2 (NIV): “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”
