Citizens of Heaven

Philippians 1:27 (NLT): Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I will know that you are standing together with one spirit and one purpose, fighting together for the faith, which is the Good News.”

As Citizens of The Kingdom —> We Must Live As Citizens of the Kingdom. Kingdom vs. Non-Kingdom,

American vs. Un-American. We must be for America not against America.

At Crossroads: We Are “For” The Kingdom “Not Against” The Kingdom

We Are “For” The Church “Not Against” The Church – Wheat & Tares

We Are “For” The Believers “Not Against” Other Believers

We Are “For” The Gifts “Not Against” The Gifts

We Are “For” The Baptism “Not Against” The Holy Ghost

We Are “For” The Empowerment “Not Against”

We Are “For” You “Not Against” You

LIVE AS A CITIZEN OF HEAVEN. This meant a lot to the Church at Philippi. It was a Roman Colony. You had your name, where you were born and date of birth officially recorded. You had the right to participate in governance, you could vote and run for office. You had the right to a fair trial within Roman jurisdiction. You were not to be harmed, tortured or killed until you were tried. You had authority and the right to appeal to Caesar.

CONDUCT YOURSELVES IN A MANNER WORTHY OF THE GOOD NEWS. We have been born into a new kingdom. 1 Peter 1:23 (NLT): “For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God.” We have delegated kingdom authority. Luke 10:19 (NLT): “Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you.”

We have power from on high. Luke 24:49 (NLT): “And now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my Father promised. But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven.”

STANDING FIRM AND STANDING TOGETHER: With One Spirit (Attitude). “Attitude” is the way you think and feel about someone or something. David prayed that God would renew a right spirit within him, Psalm 51:10 (KJV): “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.”

We should all be of the same attitude. Attitude determines altitude. With One Mind (Agenda),

Philippians 2:1-4 (NKJV): “Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.” With One Purpose (Acceleration). “Purpose” is the reason why something is done or used; the aim or intention of something. Where there is great unity there is great power. Psalm 133:1-3 (NKJV): “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on the beard, The

beard of Aaron, Running down on the edge of his garments. It is like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the LORD commanded the blessing—Life forevermore.”
