The God of All Things

Colossians 1:15-18 (NIV): “The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.”
All Things Were Created In Him, Through Him and For Him. He Is Before All Things. In Him All Things Hold Together So That in Everything He Might Have Supremacy. Romans 8:28 (NIV): ”And ‘we know’ that in ‘all things’ ‘God works’ for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
“We Know” = eido (Greek) is in the perfect tense: absolute, positive knowledge which one has beyond doubt. Charles Spurgeon used to say, “I do not need anyone to tell me how honey tastes; I know.” This “knowing” isn’t just from “reading” but “experiencing.” “All Things” = Everything that has happened, will happen or is currently happening. Far too many people are hung up on the fact that because of their past they might have a tainted future. Remember: “All Things” Are Possible To Him Who Believes! “God Works” for the good (best) “for those who love God.”
3 Things To Remember About These Passages:
God Is Working Before, During and After Any Situation Always!
He Is Lord During Your Battle, Breakthrough and Blessing
God Is Working “All Things” Together For Good But Not “All Things” Seem Good While God is Working. Joseph: God showed him the Vision; But Didn’t Show Him The Vehicle.
Seek To Understand “What” God Is Doing, Not “Why” God Is Doing It! Isaiah 46:9-10 (NLT): “Remember the things I have done in the past. For I alone am God! I am God, and there is none like me. Only I can tell you the future before it even happens. Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish.”
4 Reasons Why God Allows “All Things” To Happen In Our Lives!
To Reveal What’s Inside
To Develop Our Character
To Position or Reposition Us
To Protect Us and Others
In Closing:
Joseph, Genesis 50:20 (NLT): “You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.”
