Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will Be Done

Mathhew 6:9-13 (KJV): “After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.”

This is clearly a passage on prayer but it is also a passage on posture. Posture is: the position, carriage, or alignment of the body while sitting, standing, or moving.

Alignment is part of the Assignment. “Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will Be Done, As it is in Heaven.”

Christopher Wren, St. Paul’s Cathedral and The 3 Bricklayers.

1 Peter 2:4-6 (NIV): “As you come to him, the living Stone —rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him— you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For in Scripture it says: ‘See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame.’”

Kingdom Builders Are:

Committed: all hands on deck, together in the harvest, move from interest to commitment.

Acts 2:42: “All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals and to prayer.”

Communicators: Speak it, Replace negative talk with positive, Become a “can do” person, hype.

Proverbs 18:21 (NLT): “The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.”

Contributors: Generosity leads to reciprocity, live open handed, everything we do and say is a seed sown. Everything  God has created has the ability to give = Contributing  is a part of life–we serve the Lord! Proverbs 11:24-25 (NIV): “One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.”

3 Kingdom Killers

Complacency: Attendance–seeing your part in the vision. You are important!

If all you see is you just laying bricks you’ll get tired. But if you see yourself building the church you’ll get energized! Hebrews 10:25 (NLT): “And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”

Carnality: Allowing the sinful nature to sidetrack you from the vision by the flesh. Flesh attracts flesh.

Galatians 5:24 (NLT): “Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed their passions and desires of their sinful (Fleshly) nature to his cross and crucified them there.” Criticism: Beware of critical reports from critical people who are in critical condition. Don’t let it kill your vision for the church! James 5:9 (NLT): “Don’t grumble about each other, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. For look, the Judge is standing at the door!”
