The River of Change

Ezekiel 47:1-12 (NLT)

1. The River Should Change Your Walk  
   – Ezekiel 47:3 — ankle-deep water.
   – When you get in the river, where you go, how you live, and what you pursue should begin to change.

1. The River Should Change Your Worship —
   – Ezekiel 47:4 — knee-deep water.
   – The deeper you go, the less self-sufficient you become. The river should move you from independence to   prayer, trust, and reliance on God.
2. The River Should Change Your Direction
   – Ezekiel 47:4–5 — waist-deep
   – At some point, you stop directing the river and the river starts directing you. The Spirit begins determining your priorities, decisions, and movement.
3. The River Should Change Everything Around You
   – Ezekiel 47:5— deep enough to swim – too deep to walk
   – The river is not only supposed to change you; it should make you a carrier of life. Your home, relationships, church, ministry, and atmosphere should be different because the river is flowing through you.

• The River Brings Life
  – Ezekiel 47:9 — “Everything will live wherever the river goes.”
  – Where God’s Spirit is flowing, dead areas begin to come alive again—faith, vision, joy, relationships, purpose.
• The River Brings Healing
  – Ezekiel 47:8–9 — the waters are healed.
  – The river reaches broken places and begins restoring what has been damaged.
• The River Produces Fruit
  – Ezekiel 47:12 — the trees bear fresh fruit every month.
  – A life touched by the river should become productive. There should be visible evidence of spiritual growth.
• The River Changes the Environment
  – Ezekiel 47:8–12 — barren places become fruitful because the river entered them.
  – The river does not adapt to dead surroundings; it transforms them.

• John 7:37-38 (NKJV) – On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.
