How Big Is Your Faith?

Welcome: Happy Mother’s Day!! Mothers should be HONORED! This should happen every day not just on Mother’s Day. One of Our Core Values Here at Crossroads Is That We Have a Culture of Honor.

2 Kings 4:1-6 (NLT): “One day the widow of a member of the group of prophets came to Elisha and cried out, ‘My husband who served you is dead, and you know how he feared the Lord. But now a creditor has come, threatening to take my two sons as slaves.’

2 ‘What can I do to help you?’ Elisha asked. ‘Tell me, what do you have in the house?’

‘Nothing at all, except a flask of olive oil,’ she replied.

3 And Elisha said, ‘Borrow as many empty jars as you can from your friends and neighbors. 4 Then go into your house with your sons and shut the door behind you. Pour olive oil from your flask into the jars, setting each one aside when it is filled.’

5 So she did as she was told. Her sons kept bringing jars to her, and she filled one after another. 6 Soon every container was full to the brim!

‘Bring me another jar,’ she said to one of her sons.

‘There aren’t any more!’ he told her. And then the olive oil stopped flowing.”  God will use what you have, to fill what you don’t.

Two Questions: What Can I Do To Help You? Most people don’t know how to answer this question. The people that think they do are only looking at a temporary fix, not a permanent solution.

What Do You Have In The House? Most people think the answer to all their problems lives somewhere else, when in fact the answer is in the house. Everything we need is in the house.

The Little You Have Now Can Become More Than You Will Ever Need. She had nothing but a flask of oil. It was all she had left. DON’T focus on what’s lost, LAND on what’s left. Use what you have.  Focus on what you have!

Zechariah 4:10 (NLT): “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.”

Your Blessing Is On The Other Side Of Your Obedience. The widow was given some very important instructions. Luke 11:28 (NLT): “Jesus replied, ‘But even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice.’”

The Amount of Your Faith Determines The Amount of Your Manifestation. The number of jars they collected were the number of jars that were filled. This was a faith test—it showed the level of their faith. Hebrews 11:1 (NLT): “Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.”
