We Love Our City
Since 2011, Crossroads has been working hard to reach and rebuild different areas of Fitchburg because We LOVE our city! This Campaign is all about giving back to our community with seasonal events and capping off with our WeLOC Project Day. Our motto is “A Changed Life Changes Lives,” meaning that once one person has encountered the love of God personally, their life can change dramatically for the better. Then, they will share that love through service and giving to others!
“We exist to enable real people to experience the love and power of God.”
Past Projects
Crossroads likes to focus on projects that help kids, single parent families, and widows. Bryan Tomes, the Founding Pastor at Crossroads, believes in an “Attitude of Gratitude.” Crossroads motto is “A Changed Life Changes Lives,” which means that once one person has encountered the love of God personally, their life can change dramatically for the better. Then, they will share that love through service and giving to others. By doing this, an entire family or even a whole community can experience a major transformative change.

Crossroads Giving Tree
More than 80 Crossroads volunteers spent an afternoon wrapping over 800 gifts for 270 children from Fitchburg, Ayer, and Shirley. In September, letters were sent home through local schools, daycares, and the YMCA, looking to identify families in need. Volunteers compiled gift requests to help make the holidays special. Organized by Kayla Johnson and Tara Perry, the Crossroads Giving Tree aims to help even more children and families in need during the holiday season in the coming years!
Thanksgiving Baskets
Over 100 families in need had a full table this Thanksgiving thanks to Crossroads Community Church. With the help of their major sponsors, Walmart in Leominster and Lunenburg, NewVue Communities, and several other local businesses, Crossroads organized a community assistance campaign called “Always Give Thanks.” The 100 families arrived at the church on Saturday to pick up their basket – each containing a 14-20 lbs turkey from Market Basket, 7 sides, rolls, and a pie. These Thanksgiving dinners will be prepared and enjoyed at home or with family. The families were recommended by their local school PTOs, guidance counselors, and school social workers. Several Thanksgiving baskets have also been designated for veterans and their families.
